The Met Office issue a Cold Weather Alert and predict that overnight from the 6th December, temperatures could fall as low as -6C in some areas of the country. Winter weather forecast from 6th December
From Tuesday evening a northerly wind from the Arctic will reduce average December temperatures, and health care providers are on a level three cold weather alert and have been told to implement their cold weather plans. There is also a yellow weather warning for the first snow this winter. We are likely to see very cold sunny mornings, but frost is expected, which is dangerous for anyone accessing a business.
