We have developed a mobile App that has replaced the original paper forms with a state-of-the-art mobile site attendance recording and reporting system, which has been running for the past 4 seasons and has a proven history of success. It was specially developed to deliver an instant reporting service to ensure that our service delivery is the very best.
It has been loaded on to all of our mobile devices and deployed on each one of over 35 road gritting vehicles in our fleet. The App data is then connected to our main systems which then can store and analyse the information received to help us develop a clear picture of the ice clearances and road gritting that have taken place.
The technology provides data from our road gritting response teams that are located across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex and North London.
Improved Localised Response Times
The technology we use has allowed us to target and respond to highly localised snow clearance needs by tracking and analysing the weather forecasts and snowfall predictions. This means we can prepare our vehicles in advance of the snowfall and therefore be able to respond as soon as the snow begins to fall and settle.
This advanced planning also helps with monitoring our rock salt levels, as we have accurate data on usage, meaning we are able to maintain levels as required.
Improved Safety from Ice Clearing
It is important for organisations to ensure that their car parks, roads and pathways are kept clear of snow and ice throughout the winter to keep their employees and the public safe from slips and falls. It is worth noting that the top deck of a multi-level car park is able to freeze at temperatures higher than zero. Therefore snow and ice can settle much more easily and should be monitored closely throughout the winter season to ensure they are kept clear.
