Over the last winter, Clearway Gritting continued to be one of the leading road and car park gritting companies in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London. We have further expanded our service reach now to include Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex. We remain dedicated to providing a trusted and reliable snow clearance and road gritting services to our clients in both the public and private sectors.
We believe that our success is, in part, down to our diligent, detailed planning, scheduling and contract preparations well before the freezing weather sets in. 2015 / 2016 Gritting Statistics
During the last winter season, we clocked up some very impressive statistics as we delivered our road and car park gritting service. Here are just some of those numbers:
- We gritted 400 different sites across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.
- We had an incredible 6,970 call outs over the season.
- Our careful planning and scheduling meant that we had only 1 emergency unplanned call out. This is great illustration of how careful planning can save a lot of worry.
- Our fleet of 10 gritting lorries and 10 trailers delivered an amazing 2,100 tonnes of salt.
- Our fleet was out a total of 49 nights over a rather warmer than predicted season, with one night alone we covered an impressive 361 sites.
Even though the season was warm for a winter, these statistics show how our detailed planning process ensures that all our clients receive exactly the right amount of gritting for their sites.
Looking Forward to 2016 / 2017 Gritting Season
Building on the successes of last year, we have continued with our expansion and investment policy to ensure we deliver the trusted and reliable road and car park gritting service our clients expect. This investment has resulted in us purchasing additional gritting vehicles to help support our expanding road and car park gritting services.
These new additions include:
- 2 new DAF LF55 220 7.5 Tonnes Lorries
- 6 new trailed spreaders
Our new lorries are able to carry 3.5 tonnes of salt per trip, so this capacity helps support the growing need for our gritting services.
Salt Stocks
As each new winter season approaches, we are actively engaged with our suppliers, negotiating the contracts for the best gritting salt available. We ensure these contracts provide us with sufficient stock to cover the entire winter season. In addition, we make sure that we have a healthy contingency level to safeguard against prolonged periods of cold weather, which are often difficult to predict.
Weather Forecasting
As with every winter, we are closely following the weather forecasts and predictions for the regions we cover, factoring the results in to our winter gritting strategy. Naturally, these predictions are notoriously difficult to get right, so we monitor the changes on a regular basis.
Customer Support
An important aspect to our preparations, is the contact we have with both our current and potential clients. We aim to support them with their planning and help them support their forthcoming winter gritting requirements.
